Winch Power Architecture (Planned): - High Current Path: Primary battery (+) → 250A circuit breaker → Egis relay pack → winch motor (6-pin DTM) - Ground Path: Egis relay pack → Primary battery (-) or chassis ground (2 AWG) - Control Path: Cab control knob → low-current control wire through firewall → Egis relay pack - Protection: 250A circuit breaker required (Blue Sea 7186 or equivalent) - MUST PURCHASE - Remote Option: Wireless remote can override knob control

Winch Installation Status: - ✅ Winch physically mounted on front bumper - ✅ Egis relay pack and control knob hardware on hand - ⚠️ Winch has been connected temporarily in past for testing - ❌ Permanent power wiring NOT installed - ❌ 250A circuit breaker NOT purchased - ❌ Egis relay pack NOT mounted - ❌ Control knob NOT installed in cab - ❌ Control wire NOT routed through firewall

Safety Notes: - Winch draws 300-400A under heavy load - 250A circuit breaker is NON-NEGOTIABLE safety requirement - Direct battery connection required (not through SPOD) - Always use proper rigging techniques - Synthetic rope is safer but requires different care than steel - Never winch continuously for more than 60 seconds - See planning/ELECTRICAL_SYSTEM_IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md for detailed installation procedure
