Total Positive Wires: 12 (8 installed, 4 planned) Note: All circuits also require black ground wires (not shown above)
Notes: - All wire runs approximately 7 feet from behind 2nd row panel to center console - Black ground wires can share common ground point at console (local chassis ground or ground wire back to panel) - LED circuits sized for <1A with 2A fuses for protection - ⚠️ CRITICAL: Inverter requires 10 AWG for 300-400W operation - 14 AWG TXL insufficient - Alternative: Limit inverter to 150W maximum with 14 AWG TXL and 20A fuse - Recommended: Purchase 10 AWG wire (non-TXL automotive primary wire acceptable) - USB-C PD draws ~5A maximum (40W output + converter losses) - Seat heater signal wires already installed per previous documentation
Inverter Switch Control Options¶
Option 1: Inverter with Built-In Remote Switch Terminal (Preferred) - Many inverters have a "remote on/off" terminal for low-current switch input - Wiring: Console switch → Tan 20 AWG TXL (~7 ft) → Inverter remote terminal - Advantage: Clean, simple, no relay needed - Power Path: Interior SPOD → 10 AWG Brown → Inverter (always powered, switch controls inverter on/off) - Check inverter specs before purchase for remote switch capability
Option 2: Relay-Based Switching (If Inverter Lacks Remote Terminal) - Use automotive relay behind 2nd row panel (near MSD relay module) - Control Circuit: Console switch → Tan 20 AWG TXL (~7 ft) → Relay coil trigger - Power Circuit: Interior SPOD → 10 AWG Brown → Relay (Terminal 30) → Relay (Terminal 87) → Inverter - Relay Required: 40A automotive relay (Bosch-style) or use spare MSD relay channel if available - Advantage: Works with any inverter, all high current stays behind 2nd row
Recommended Approach: 1. Select inverter with remote on/off terminal (most quality inverters have this) 2. If not available, use automotive 40A relay behind 2nd row panel 3. Either way, run Tan 20 AWG TXL from console switch to panel area
